Am moving alternator to drivers side ( was on other side due to air con pump ) , where do I get a bracket from ? Is it the same as an SD1 bracket as a landy parts dealer has a s/h one for peanuts ?

It is an SD1 bracket so snap his hand off, get the bolts too if you can as they are quite long if I remember correctly.

Chedder , thanks very much for that , was thinking I was in for a wild goose chase ! Andy very kind offer , if I have any problems can I get back to you ? The other thing is I need to alter the alternator face to accept the adjuster bracket , is it just a matter of undoing bolts and turning the end of said alternator ?

On RPI's site they mention that the RV8 alternator (that they supply) has a front plate which can be moved to suit being right or left-handed. Hopefully yours will be the same. smile

No problem Combine and any questions just ask, Graham may well be right that you can swivel the front face to suit, I will have a look at mine tomorrow and let you know.
RPI is a company that supplys lots of V8 bits, advertise on Ebay a lot http://www.v8engines.com/
They have a good reputation but can be a bit pricey on some bits.

Yes it will switch from RH to LH just take out long bolts that run through it and tap front casting towards the pulley,it will come off the stator and just swivel to where you want it ,insert and tighten long bolts (making sure it remains free to turn) Tempus smile

Got that Tempus , cheers ! The SD1 alternator bracket didn't help with the alternator as there's no room to hang it under the bracket , took it back , got refund ! She's booked into Gugleilmi's begining of April for a service so they can find a RH bracket , then I can get a torqueflow upgrade which is what switching the alternator round is about .lick

Mr Tank ( Andy ) , you wouldn't have a pic of that alternator bracket in situ would you as its impossible to know wether it will fit unless I see it on a wedge with the same bits on ! Its got to allow the alterator to drive off the end of the water pump .

Hi Combine

Its a standard fit, but I will send you some pics, or better still as you are only 45 miles away come and have a look! If it fits then you can take it away!

Sorry, don't want to de-rail the thread but... can the TF mod be fitted to a Wedge, particularly a flapper?
I think there's an article in this months Sprint...which i haven't read..yet.

Wayne , I have been in discussion on e- mail/phone with Eann ( torqueflow ) and after various pics/specs numbers/ tvr mods having been previously done to my beast I didn't know about , finally he said YES ; got to be hotwire , either 3 or 5 AFM , 14cux ECU ( black box ), and 72mm plenum at opening , mine is a previous mod. So as you say its lots of specs to check and my bleedin alternator in the way !wobble

Ah..so that's my flappy wedge out then. frown
Does look to be a neat installation, and if it gives what it seems to do then should be a very worthwhile mod.
Look forward to hearing how it goes. smile
