Hi there does anyone know this car...

F450 RTF

Its a 400SE in light metallic blue.
Its for sale in Edinburgh at the moment and I quite like it. Have a test drive booked for Monday. Is there anything I should know about when looking at these cars? Chassis rot on the out riggers and stuff like that.

Thanks for the help and info guys.

Thanks for that.
Seems that the reverse gear is a bit crunchy and it overheats.
Will see if they have got those problems sorted out on Monday.
On the plus side though its fine underneath.

Do you think I could use one of these as an everyday car in Scotland (we occasionally get snow biggrin)?

I wouldn't recomend a wedge as an everyday car , its a bit on the 'hairy' side ie if you give it some right foot ' things can happen '.

I wouldnt! It would get very tiring, but more than that you would get really tired of being steamed up, annoying anyones neighbours anytime you arrive/leave etc...

Dont let me put you off, but they are best left for fun times only!!

I did for a decade, all weathers inc snow. You get fewer problems but need a twice yearly service (6,000 miles.) I had three sets of tyres for differing uses.

Are they really that hairy in the wet and snow? Would it not be ok if you moddified your right foot? Or am I underestimating these cars? I don't have a daily commute to do or anythng like that.

If you drive it like any other normal car you'll be fine but if you try & make progress & use the power in the wet, they do 'let go'....yes
