Has anyone bought an exhaust from MIJ Performance?

They talk about it all being custom made, and option of three differnt loudnesses? Not sure if they are doing good products, or just exhausts for the 1.2 renault clio massive???

Thanks, so presumably very few companies do them? Seems quite expensive but will ring ACT. Still grateful for any more ideas. Want to retain as much noise as possible of course!

Oh thanks, any particular recommendations? They can always ship parts out.

RT Racing and JP will have the jigs so should be able to send the exhaust, the other companies will make up a custom system (Pipeworks did mine) but will need the car to do the job

Wedges had a variety of different types of system fitted, so you would need to identify what you already have, Steve Heaths Wedge Bible has drawings of the different types and would make a good reference.

ACT use JP and I guess you could spec what you wanted.

I ordered an exhaust from ACT as my exhaust was past it's best.

Very good quality & fit. Can assure you that the sound is most definitely 'proper' ears

I believe JP is the 'core' manufacturer supplying many of the others mentioned. However previous posts suggest it's no cheaper 'buying direct'.
As post above, you choose the noise level.

Another vote for JP,as noted before they cannot undercut the firms they supply but they do make up for it by having the ability to alter/adjust parts to fit better as wedges are not a one size fits all car.Tempus smile

Err..no, they do the job for which they were designed ..most efficiently.

Certainly didn't think they were 'skinny' when i purchased them.

Any fatter at the rear pipework would be permanently dragging itself down the road! The clearance is minimal as it is!

Yes..JP exhausts, bought through Tim/ACT. I requested a louder pipe, and that is what i got. Ask my neighbours hehe

Expect some alterations, pretty much any exhaust system will need some sort of alteration to make 'em fit tidy unless its built on the car.

Another thing to watch out for if you get one built from scratch is to get the back pressure right otherwise you might loose a little poke!

yes

My 400 has a RTR system which while it did "fit" the car there was a lot of room for improvement (and the driveshaft rolleyes)

Above pic shows the difference between where the pipe was and where it needed to be, at the flange it's only about 5mm but this give 30mm+ extra clearance over the drive shaft and looks a lot better from the rear.

Hopefully should have above pipe back fully welded on Monday driving

Where did you get yours Alan? Did you spec the build?

I do have an issues with ground clearance at the rear - dead easy to bottom out or scrape over uneven ground. I'm guessing most SEAC's have this problem.
