I need to put 4 new tyres on my 350i and it seems that most people say that bridge stones work best on this baby. Any thoughts on which spec bridge stone or any other tyre and the cheapest place to buy on-line would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mick

Have Bridgestones RE720 (on the standard 15 inch rims)and happy with them (even on the track), but think you cannot get these anymore.
Looking into replacement as well and considering the falken ze912 as it seems these are good, V-rated and available in 205/60 and 225/50.

I think most people are now using Toyo Proxies, and 888's for dry use only.

These and the Dunlop SP01 and the favourites for the original size. Many go for the last two favoured by TVR: the SP9000 and T1-R. Depends whether you want comfort (former) or performance (latter)

NB for the SP9000 and T1-R you'll have to change to the 205/55/15 size.

If your 350i is stock, there's not much point over spec'n your tyres. My Wedge came with new Cooper Zeon XTC's 205/60/15 (made by Avon). They look nice and work well with the car and come with the advantage of a flange protector to protect your alloy rims. Price seems to be around 70 quid a corner plus fitting. I have a good tyre fitter near me who I trust and I'd like to give him my business when the time comes. I'm sure you have someone similar near you, so I'd get them to order the tyres and have a deal with them that includes fitting.

Thanks for all the advice - The Toyo TR-1 does seem like a good bet and at about £70.00 per corner good value to. Also I realize that as the car is currently on 205 - 60 -15 and that going on to 205 -55 -15 will take the diameter back nearer to the original fit tyres of 195 - 60 - 15.

Cheers

Well, got most of it apart, still have the long bolt seized through the trailing arm at the hub end.. Got a few questions I'll post seperately. I'll try attaching a picture see how it works out.

Had two standard size toyo proxies, fitted two weeks ago, £140.00 all in fitted. Blackcircles.com

I was really pleased with their service.

I think mine were made in outer mongolia or somewhere. rolleyes

They'll be replaced with some Toyos shortly, as I had on the 390.

I've installed two sets of tires since I bought the car... falkens and "S03 Pole Position" (bridgestone)

The S03's kicked ass for grip. The Falken's would spin on a hard launch,... the S03's just dig in an grab like mad.

According to the tire shop I bought the S03's from, they are no longer made, and I got the last set in Kanuckistan. frown

I bought toto prices and was well chuffed with grip and price from blackcircle £250 a set fitted up road. Had to get lower profile 55s but no probs. These gyres were worth another 50hp.

Since my car is never allowed out in the wet and miles covered are few, I'm seriously considering the 888s now. scratchchin

At a 50% price increase over a T1-R or A022 and with only half the life they're three times as expensive per mile eg:

Great apart from that.

888's are about £115 for 225 50 15, best be quick as I think they are stopping doing this size.
