Hi all, request time.

My SEAC has a removable steering wheel fitted, which to be honest i don't want or need. I'm returning the interior back to original..which includes the 'carbon fibre' dash.
Anyway, i have a TVR steering wheel but this doesn't fit. I need the original TVR boss.
I tried a 'well known' breakers but they will only sell the boss with the s/wheel..£75 + VAT & delivery. That's alot when i just need the boss bit.
Don't suppose any of you guys..happen to have one..lying around?
Worth the ask.smile

No sorry .. but I've often seen the wheel alone (Griff 500 style) sell on the PH classifieds and fleabay for £50 .. so guess you could always sell it after.

Would you be interested in a swap of bosses if compatible Waynester.
Do you have any pics of the removable boss and how the wheel comes off.

Hi Campbell, i'm more than happy to swap bosses, the wheel that's fitted to mine would go with it obviously.
The wheel is removed by a bolt/lever on the right of the boss. It's a good set up, and you can remove the wheel in seconds.
It's the steering wheel that is removable..not the boss. That bolts in place of the original TVR one.

Don't have any close pic's of the wheel & boss but could do some tomorrow.

Edit: Ok, popped out and took some pic's.

The steering wheel

The key which allows wheel removal

Key removed

Wheel removed by pulling 2 bolt/levers out either side

Not a great pic but it shows the boss bolts to the existing TVR hub

Back of s/wheel showing the bolt/levers that pull out. (I apologise for skinny white legs). hehe

Hi Waynester

Does the wheel come off from the boss, will it take the standard wheel.

Looks like the Mk3 Granada switchgear, do none of the aftermarket steering wheel people list a boss for a Grandad? Maybe you could adapt to suit the TVR wheel fixing points.

Surely the important thing is the "spline" that the boss goes onto?

I know my 280i has a TR7 setup.

I do have an old boss for that (not sure if it will fit the original TVR wheel though I think its a "mountney" fitment) and a wheel that was fitted to my wedge when I bought it.

Your welcome to try them if they are any good.

Norman

The pic shows the s/wheel detaches from the boss. No a standard TVR wheel won't fit. Look at the back of the wheel pic.

They go together.

Spot on, the quick release boss just bolts to the TVR ummm...back plate bit..thingy. wobble

Point is, i have a standard TVR wheel, but it does not connect to this 'quick release' boss. All i need is the TVR boss.

Anyone have one spare - would be great, or happy to swap the entire quick release wheel & boss for the TVR boss. smile
