Car has been here a week and I've yet to find the location of the fuse box. I'm actually thinking it might not have a fuse box, computer or relay box. Nothing in the engine bay, don't think it is under the pass side knee panel (though that is where much of the wiring is), haven't found it under the driverside dash either or in the glove box. Car was definately modified quite a bit. The exhaust is a work of art 6 inch lengths then welded together to fit in tubes. No cats, no o2 sensor virtually no wires left in the engine bay aside from those feeding the battery and t he MSD ignition and box.

I took the seats out last night so I can get up and under in there when I get home from camping this weekend. Maybe if you're not laughing too hard I'll have a firm idea where the box is supposed to be by then

The fuse box for the 280i should be located under the dash above the passenger side footwell. But saying that, I would caution that the location is not a guarantee as some could be behind the
cardboard panel behind the glovebox. Mine (#1160) is above the passenger footwell under the dash.

Hi everyone. I am one of the crazy few in the US that has had a 1986 280i for a few years and is trying to get it in running shape for spring.
Does anyone have a picture describing the function of the fuses in the glove compartment ? I have a feeling I should replace all the fuses. But want to know what is what.
Thanks !
