I have a 400SE with flapper MAF so which TPS do I need to fit, I have been given the options of the SEB201 (ETC6443) or SEB 207 (ETC8495)Potentiometer, is one for flapper and one for hotwire ?

By the way after seraching on here and finding the prices quoted I have found Paddock to be very reasonable for genuine Lucas parts

Hamish - the throttle pots seem to sell new from £75 to around £130 .. for the different types .. but all that is different is the connector.

I bought one off ebay for a fiver (classic range rover) and just cut off the connector and crimped on new connectors.

3 wires.

5v source from ECU.
Ground (-)
signal return (0.3v ~ 4.3) depending on the throttle position.

I bought one that only had circular holes (as opposed to elongated ones) where the pot will fix in one place and not adjust. Check for the elongated holes if the flapper needs them for adjustment.

Going to elongate my holes when required........... but less hassle if I did not have to

Hi,
I did the same with my "flapper" 350i. Bought the range rover item and modified the connectors. Works fine.

Yep I had picked up the SEB 207 (ETC8495)from Paddock (£79 inc vat/del) excellent price but wanted to double check I had the correct unit prior to fitting. Anyhow fitted last night, set up as per above and what a difference, the car use to stumble around 3k revs under heavy load but thats gone and it has a much smoother delivery of power plus the circular holes where spot on for the settings.

A few more jobs to do then it will be ready for its Hoon to Italy in the summer

Cheers
