Can someone tell me how to stop the headlamp pods from bouncing when they are raised, its only a slight movement but i don't want to be dazzling other drivers. I wounded if the adjuster under the motor needs turning or not
Thanks Colin

Hi,just failed MOT for bouncing o/side pod, they are pushed up by a rod you have to lengthen the rod or adjust the rod so it raises full travel to stop bounce,i hope this helps.

The other thing that can happen after all this time is that the stop gets perished. Usually it's a bit of heater hose cut to length, or something similar. So if the stop is worn out it'll bounce about too. Adjusting the rods might help but you could run out of adjustment and then you'll have to renew the stop rubber. BTW I've passed numerous MOT's with wobbly pods, my tester just checks the aim when it comes up.

Ooooooo no, don't adjust the link rod. The only reason it's adjustable is to make the pods sit flush with the nose when closed. As Adam says, it's probably the rubber stops that are shot. They're usually just a short piece of rubber hose screwed to a bent bracket and positioned so that the pod squashes the hose a bit when raised.

Just to add that the stops are adjustable.....well they were on my car. There is a slot in the fiberglass so it can be adjusted.
