Is something missing.

Hi,
Looking at the engine this evening, (been doing a lot of staring at it lately, wife thinks I'm nuts) and I noticed what appears to be a mounting flange for something ... but nothing there. I've attached a photo, you can see where I mean, its just below the grey air inlet duct. Any ideas if something is missing.

I think that's for the water jacket at the bottom of the plenum, it is redundant. If it is connected to the water system then people tend to remove it anyway.

Strange, there is usually a 'hot spot' in that position, a thingymyjobby on the bottom of the plenum with 2 coolant hoses connected, they don't look like that though. That looks like the cold start injector boss that is usually situated on'tother side of the plenum, i doubt it is though.

The pipes for the "hot spot" usually come in from the front, maybe the extra hole is for a sensor of some description. my flapper doesn't have this and neither does my spare hotwire Plenum
