Hi everyone,

The MOT for my wedge is due in the next 2 weeks, I'm just curious as to what it's going to fail on from this current snag list:

. passenger seat not bolted in
. passenger side seat belt clip missing (for some stupid reason I've forgotten what its called, the black with the red button to clip the belt in, attached to the floor of the car!)
. fuel gauge not working
. temperature gauge not working
. rev counter not working
. horn does not work
. slight fuel leak at rear of car

I've had almost all of the exhaust system replaced so no problem there, I don't think emissions will be a problem. Tyres look fine, though I'm conscious they are looking a little perished around the edges, but the tread is fine.

Outriggers look ok but I guess I'll soon find out. I just want to know what from the above needs to be sorted before I take it in, as not to waste my time and money.

Thanks in advance and forgive me for knowing very little about my wedge - but I'm learning.

When it's through the MOT, it'll be time to sell her and I'll put it on here for sale along with the usual places.

Kevin.

Depends on how strict the MOT tester is: if he's 100% on the ball then everything as stated above.
However, unlikely he'd spot the unsecure seat and probably not the seatbelt anchor (you may get away with saying you'd forgotten to refit it after changing carpets or whatever).
Also fuel leak may or may not be a 'testable' issue.

Many of us have a particular tester with whom (choosing my words carefully) we have a 'realistic' relationship with... the odd item that may be a 'fail' they will overlook as long as you convince them you will sort it ASAP (like, within the next hour). But if it looks like you're taking the proverbial, you won't get a chitty.
For example, I recently had my car tested and he let go the fact that I'd forgotten to replace a split pin in a castle nut on the suspension... potentially a 'bit iffy'. It goes without saying that the first thing I did when I got home was to reach for the box of split pins...
The leaking engine and diff were not, however, a concern to him, though it may have been a different matter if it'd been the PAS that was leaking.
