350i - Anti roll bar brackets and bushes ...
Discussion
I have had 2 separate instances of the metal brackets failing. one snapped at the bottom clip part of the bracket and now I have had one fail at the top by the bolt (different sides). First what car ar they off? and second is there a mod were I can go for a 2 bolt solution?
Thanks

Hi,
They are a ford item (inevitably) and tvrcarparts.com have them along with suitable poly bushes. The brackets are about £8 if I recall correctly. The Steve Heath "Bible" has a description of a two bolt Mod. I did both sides of my 350 as the bottom "tab" of both popped out. Common problem with these. If you don't have the "bible" it's pretty much just a case of drilling a hole in the bottom "tab" and making up a suitable bit of backing for the bolt. A tip in Steves "bible" is to use a long bolt to get the bracket located and then substitute for a bolt of suitable length. Use a nyloc nut and you should be sorted. Did mine a few years back and they've stayed put.

The tab ends of mine kept failing so bought a pair of these from superflex http://www.superflex.co.uk/datasheets/Universal_AR...
and filed the tab hole tom take a bolt with no more problems

I've lost/broken both of these over the years.
I suspect the bolts worked loose and that caused the brackets to bend/fail.
A Ford main dealer supplied replacements but that was a few years ago and I doubt they do them any more.
My new ones were fitted as standard but with the largest diameter bolts possible using large thick washers and Nylock nuts done up nice and tight. Not had an issue since.
Two bolts would be better for sure.
Is this the correct size?
