Looks nice. I think the newer OZ wheels really suit the car.

Now where did I put my lottery ticket... frown

Wow ! cloud9

Those are the wheels I was suggesting Transmitter Man could consider for his SEAC when we were chatting at BBWF.

I quite like them too, not many wheels that 'work' on a Wedge, especially with the wider arches on a SEAC without looking abit.. lost

I still prefer a nice set of 16" Oz wheels on wedge/seac lick

Like the colour.. wink

If I had the money it would be mine yikes but think lastnights puppys won't fetch £1500 each frown

This is Halycon's car. It is a serious, serious piece of kit and has been maintained / restored with no consideration for expenditure. I can guarantee the poor bloke will cry when someone buys it.

Top bloke, top car.

Graham,

Does not look like OZ offer these wheels anymore as they are not listed on their website: http://www.ozracing.co.uk/index.htm

I'd seriously consider a set if they were available in 17" and at least 8" wide.

I do like the cream interior on the blue SEAC.

I thought TVRCarParts had a load of these or did they get rid of them at last years BBWF ?

Yes, I believe they are discontinued now, but sometimes you'll see a set of 16"s for sale.
I'm not sure whether they came in 17".

Think in the era these wheels were made 17 were only for tractors and bycycles !

Don't forget in the eighties 13 was the norm, with 14 on larger cars and 15 on sporty jobs with 16 on the racing machinery smile

Seem to remeber my 3.0s Capri in 84 only had 14's until I put the 8 spoke 15's smile

Also profiles...my XJ6s from the seventies had 205/70 x 15 SP sports, and I thought wow! ultra wide LOW profile tyres ! hehe

In the early 70s I sneaked WIDE 165 x 13 RADIALS onto my company Avenger...with white walls (stripe) on them. rofl

The area manger looked baffled and disapproving when I said " that's all they had".

I do think too low a profile on older cars does look ste though.

I think it depends on what car and whether one likes to wander from originality.

Another problem of course was that the suspemnsion was designed around the original wheel/tyre size and moving more than +1 normally screws up handling.

Unfortunately my brain tells me wider and fatter must be better, on cars not woman biggrin

I'm spoilt where rubber is concerned as my other car is one of theses;

Both these cars run taller aftermarket rims.

and mine

which is fitted as standard from the factory in 1979 with magnesium 10 x 15's shod with 285/50/15 P7's. I now run Yoka 40's which has screwed up the gearing somewhat as the P7's are unobtanium.

One reason I bought one a few years ago after seeing one for the first time in the late 80's backing out of someones drive.

I thought WTF's that cool

De Tomaso went bang around the same time as TVR.

Shame.

Hi Guys,

Halcyon (Chris) here to answer the wheel queries...
The OZ Plutons are indeed the ones from TVRCarParts, bought up in bulk from the old factory stock by them, originally intended to go on the Speed8 wedge which was never really put in production although it did feature at the motor show. They sat in the back of the Blackpool warehouse still in their boxes for probably 15 years before being liberated.

The lucky buyer will get both sets of wheels with the car though - the original OZ Tuscan racer splits just need a bit of a polish up refurb but are generally in good condition, and also have aluminium machined centre caps and new TVR badges waiting to go on.

The reason I'm selling - I've bought the T350C in Nightfire Red which was recently for sale on PH. I should also add that I am very keen for my SEAC to go to a good home and get the attention it deserves - and I'm open to sensible offers around the asking price.

Thanks all for your interest

Cheers

Chris
