Thought I'd post this in case it helps anyone. I contacted Toyo to enquire about the recommended tyre pressures for my 390SE. Tyres are Proxes 225/50/15 T-1S.

For general road use Toyo tech recommend 18psi front and 23psi rear.

ETA

Real World experience among wedge owners though is 21-23F and 22-24R

Excellent thanks, i've been wondering whats best since I fitted my cerb wheels. I've been running 23psi all round so i'll give that a try.

18psi at the front will make it understeer considerably, Toyo Proxes have quite a soft sidewall and at that presure you will 'dink' the rims if you hit a pothole.
Have had two sets on mine and tried various presure settings before ending up with 25 on the front and 23 on the rear as the 'ideal' set up for my style of driving, tyre wear was consistant across the tread pattern with very little feathering on the edges even when hooning, I know everybody has different preferences to set-ups regarding ride quality and handling but I do think that 18 is very low for the front and will probably be interesting in the wet!

18 sound daft to me...well, dangerous to be honest.

I'd say 22 front 24 rear as TVR originally suggested (for all Wedges IIRC).

I had new Toyo's fitted to the rear of my SEAC, the ride was quite hard so i checked the pressures which were 28psi all round!

Reduced to around 21 front/rear. A little experimentation seems well worth while.

Plus those on 911's car are the earlier (and some would say better) T1S tyres,
which apparently had softer sidewalls better suited to the light weight TVR.

I remember the discussions we had on here when they were changing over to the more rigid T1Rs, and how I had to search out what were left of the T1S's.

The journey home scared the st out of me, as the tyres needed scrubbing off before 'normal service' was resumed. After that they were superb...well suited to keeping safe a rubbish driver like me. hehe

When I got my cerbie wheels all the tyres were on 19 which was a little low. I run them at 20 or 21 now.

These had Proxes on too. I think the cerbie wheels, having fatter tyres, suit a lower pressure than factory wedge wheels.

Graham, I just re-read your notes in the car's file and someone has written on there; tyre pressures 21F and 23R! So taking in view the other comments that's what I'm going with yes

I will edit my first post in case it causes someone to come unstuck!
