2.8 five speed advice needed.Please

Just need some more advice if poss.As i mentioned my car needs a new clutch cable fitted.The gears seem very vague.Do you think it could be the linkage or bushes.My friend does a lot of Engine swaps.thinks the gearbox has a remote fitted.i will change gear box oil in due course.Thanks for all your help .Mike

Ford boxes ain't the best cog swappers but despite several cars fitted with the Type 9 - 5 speed I wouldn't call the change vague.
A big improvement can be made by either buying or making your own quick shift, this basically moves the pivot point on the base of the lever to give greater mechanical advantage and less travel.

May be worth making sure the plastic ball on the base of the levers not worn out while you have it in bits.
