Looking to find out what the sensor does in my spare hotwire fuel rail

Is it pressure or temp ?

Also as a temp measure I've taken of the pressure regulator as mine is bust, seems to be about the same base pressure of 38 but is it man enough for the 4.5 ?

It's a thermister used to measure fuel temperature. The electrical spec is the same as the ECU's coolant temp sender.

I should have a spare if you want to swap it out.

Its ok Leigh I have a spare fuel rail I was stripping earlier and wondered what the sensor was for

Was thinking of using the fuel rail on MS but think the injector seals are different to the flapper rail so would need to swop the inlet manifold as well - not got a spare one yet smile

Cheers that may be more useful to me for the final run, was looking at my spare wiring loom and hoping that it was also hot wire, but it is not frown

most bits are the same, apart from ECU connector, but your be using a different one anyway.

I thought that may be the case but was not sure about the power pack for the injectors, as would want to send signal directly to injectors eventually

I just took the wires from the injectors followed them to a join cut them off and put on a multi 6 pin connector on. so they have there own little loom, also if you get 2 6 pin connectors you can put a connector on the other end in case you need to revert back.

if not P38 and hotwire looms come up on ebay. the P38 looms are the same, well they have extra bits and a different ECU connector.

shame the MS does not share the same connector as the Emerald. as then they could be swappable.
