Having looked closely - I think I mean the (probably one-off) 350 that has had a 4.6 conversion....

Don't think there was ever a 460 SEAC produced by the factory. (stand to be corrected of course) There was a 460 SEAC that sold for good money last year I think, but it was a tastefully modified one, i.e, changed from 450 to 460, recaro seats, side pipes etc........

As seen here in BBWF

Fantastic machene, but not completely 'standard' as it were. thumbup

Lovely thing... biggrin

I think, in fairness, I have got the tail end of a pub story about one - and have failed to realise that we are talking about a more or less one-off creation.

I wonder, does anyone know how many might have been created?

What are we talking to buy one roughly?

Are they as good as they sound?

Jon,

Reading here should answer most of your TVR SEAC questions: http://www.theseacpages.co.uk/index.aspx

Regarding cost of a SEAC, I think it's like most cars, you get what you pay for.

In the case of the average SEAC, (I'm a relatively new owner of one) you can expect to pay £8-12K, more if a minter.

If you then spend a further £5-£10K you'll then sell it for £12K biggrin

Never a 460SEAC ... 420, 450 and the fabled 660.

anything else is an after market modification.
Isnt that red Seac Karl's old one ? looks nice.

karl's seac is defo a minter ! regarding buying a seac , you don't get the chance to see many at all so probably best to get one and spend plenty of time getting it how you want it without altering the originality too much , if you like them its worth the effort .

Sounds like something special, thanks for the great advice.

The one I am referring to is black and I think was a 350 > 460 SEAC (if that makes sense).redface

I've always loved wedges. redface

Karl's 460SEAC was built as a 450 SEAC as a special order for a customer before Catalytic converters became mandatory so before Jan 1st 1993. It was built a couple of years after official SEAC production had ceased. It was not cheap for the customer to buy, way more expensive than the Griffiths being built at the time. Karl did tell me but I can't remember the exact figure.

If I remember correctly the engine was upgraded to a cross bolted block and some internal shenanigans to make it a 460.

Karls wedges were always meticulously looked after and tastefully upgraded. They always won or came very high in concours events.

Yup .. as I said ... Never was a 460 ... only an aftermarket Mod wink

Saw Karls cars a few times each time they got prettier and prettier.
Not sure I liked exhaust setup on the 460 though, and his obsession for precision rolled ali and other shiney stuff was unhealthy smile ( I did though purchase some of his "Bling" for my Wedge before anyone decides to flame me about my comments ).

OK it's not a 460 but it's defo a SEAC. SS chasis and CF body, ex factory racer according to the owner

4 X delorto carbs and a T5 box. Suspension fully rose jointed. What a glorious noise it made.
This was taken, last weekend, at Fintry near Aberdeen
The last pics my mates car which was a bit sick. Dax Rush, Rover KV6 on throttle bodies and DTA ECU. Sequential box.

The ex factory racer is a bit contentious..

I believe Jeff Stratham does not believe it is.. and has had words with the owner.

Well I know there is a after market SEAC front mould, as one of the Current racers has a SEAC front on his wedge Racer.

Also the rear Arches on that car don't look like SE ones.
