Bloody hell thats far, far too cheap. I suppose the cars uncertain history might of put a few people off, but four grand is terrible (but not for the winner though laugh).

Gentlemen -

Well, what a shame you didn't bid on it!

It also seems that a particular someone has a habit of advertising their car(s) at a rather low price every time I have advertised this. Could it be that this has influenced the watchers, and ultimetely the bidders?

A bargain price, I would agree. But someone is going to get a rather good Wedge at a very economical outlay. The upside potential in the value is quite strong, as I believe this may turn out to be an interesting and perhaps important car in the history of TVR. Maybe now that I have sold it some people will come forward and say what they know about the car.

Sold for £4,100 to a fellow PHer. I wish him well with the car and trust he will get a great deal of enjoyment from it. I just know he'll have a lot of fun with it!

Ahem!

The car has a quite definitive history according to what has been told by a previous owner - it was a works development car, a special order with this body.

There is/was also a document that stated the car left the factory as a '420SEAC in metallic black with modified windscreen aperture'.

It is fact that the car was rebuilt in 2003 prior to purchase by me and the colour changed to yellow.

Hey JJ, I was commiserating mate.

If you're referring to my car, bear in mind it was a catD write-off once upon a time, and as I'm an honest chap, the price has always had to reflect that.
When I decide to sell, I just sell... and no buggering about for weeks on end.

Of course maybe you mean the other yellow car, which has also come up a time or two.

Best of luck anyway. smile

Can't believe it went for less than my 350i did this time last year! If I had had the money available, it would have been mine... Oh well, someone has got a bargain!

Hope you have enough to fix the Aston, JJ.

Bargain? definately NOT!!

customized interior (dash, steering wheel), non original color, enginebay hasnt been sprayed in the "new" color as its still in black, enginebay looks untidy and messy.

also a few faults here and there, as described in the add.

the pictures from the outside and interior are mostly out of focus and as often: no underneath pictures which show the chassis.

the sellers stated: "I have also said that the car is advertised elsewhere at £7,500 although I believe it to be worth over £10,000." ...thats rather wishfull thinking than realistic!!!

Yes Graham -

I do appreciate that you were commiserating. My apoligies if my thoughts suggested otherwise.

Sadly, the purchaser who is a fellow PHer and I believe also a fellow Wedger, has not come forward, and does not respond to my messages. Of course, he may have suddenly been taken ill, or been involved in an accident, so I will hope that he gets in touch soon. Otherwise I will re- offer it in some form or other. Maybe I'll realise a little more for the car. If any of you should be interested, please contact me by personal email.

As far as 'letting it go at that price' I am obliged in law (not just ebay rules) to sell to the highest bidder. (Similarly, the high bidder is obliged in law to complete the purchase.) I have always led my life with honesty and integrity at the uppermost of values to be adhered to. The figure attained on ebay is a low price, but we cannot lead our lives thrashing about in a sea of regrets. When the car goes to its new owner, I must regroup and move on to other things, or simply continue to sell my cars and say 'Goodbye' to classics and exotics for a while.

As for the commentators who just cannot stop arguing about the car, I continue to be amazed. It is moving on to a new owner! Please let them enjoy the car without fuss and please don't spoil their purchase for them.

As for myself, I am just a man who bought a car and suffered the slings and arrows of a number of self-righteous individuals who completely missed the point.

Kindest regards to you all.
