My pimped-up wedge, previously referred to as Bad Boy is changing. As part of the rebuild to make it drive safely and properly, I will replace the interior and wheels. The hood will be staying as is.

Suggestions on colour scheme and wheels are welcome.

Black leather piped red with red carpets and put the walnut back. Wheels, I would go for a split rim possibly sympathetic to the original wheels. Image wheels would be able to make something similar in a size to accomodate the brakes!

IMHO - the paint colour is actually quite nice .. looks like a very professional job ..

It's just the wheels that do not quite suite it .. and make it look like it's .. : Gone to Halfords.

As has been mentioned - Image wheels do some of the best designs..

Badred wedges blue car .. his wheels were great

and of course the factory SEAC racer..

On the interior..

Black hood, wood facias and remove red and replace with grey.. as most of the leather is grey anyway..

When I looked around it at BBWF a couple of years ago I thought the work that had gone into it was really good, but I'd change three things - the pink dashboard, the awful wheels and put a 450SE spoiler on instead. Change the dash to walnut, choose some nice five spoke wheels (as pictured above, BadReds are a good example), and, if you can get the paint to match, change the spoiler. The leather interior looks good as it is, as does the hood. They're different, without being too over the top.

Stick with the exterior paint. Keep the whaletail.

Keep the interior colour scheme as is, as it matches the hood (which you say you are keeping), but replace the dash panels with wood. Pick a reddish brown such as rosewood to complement the rest of the interior.

Change the wheels for deep dished.

But you won't know exactly what you should do until our German friend comes along to advise... wink

Has anyone replaced the dials with electronic equivalents, but not necessarily one for one? They look good in the catalogue, but I know from previous experience on this forum the traditionalist will not like that approach. Any thoughts as I am getting all the wiring and electrics sorted as well.

I agree with the lads, a nice rosewood/dark walnut dash would be lovely and a set of seac alloys painted dark red metallic same as Rev's photo's [the blue wedge] would look brill.
cheers jonny..

Funny you say that .. I'm sure Redwedge was talking of changing his red wheel to black centres..

Henry FWIW I could live with the seats and leather but the facias and wheel have no place on a car let alone a Wedge, more akin to Liberaces living room!
Exterior paint I like wheels though are something else. I too would look to image wheels (Factory race car & badredwedge) as a suitabl cost option.
Whatever you decide I hope it all goes well.

I thing the seats might look much better with a different dash .. altogether it's all too much.

Some sort of carbon fibre would be fine on the dash panels, as much of the car has already been 'updated'. The upholstery looks fine IMHO.

Personally I think five spoke type wheels with RED centres look great, and would match your car.
Otherwise, and funds permitting, the SEAC racer wheels are just unbeatable. cloud9

Replacing the whaletail might involve more work than you think, and doesn't look too bad on the flared arch cars....somewhere to stand your pint. smile

Henry, Image wheels are the way to go. Check those links I sent you last week including that supplier with BIG discounts. There few or zero wide wheels out there in our sizes with suitable offset. Modern car design has pushed the wheel right out to the far corners of the car losing that nice deep dish for better handling but crap looks. Sent on my Blackberry from Dulles International airport in the US. See you all Sunday at the PH meet at Mercedes museum - or will Rev and I be the only Wedge? Phil 420SEAC

This car was changed, presumably before Henry acquired it, to be something different, if not outrageous. It is both, and outstanding for that.

The more I see those wheels, the more I feel they should stay.

Don't go spending money on something that is rather good already. Take it out and park it in a busy high street, and watch how many people stop and take pictures of it with their phones.

Henry - bring it over here and take me for a run out in it please. I've just sold my Wedge, and that was a bit different too.

Wooden dash - pah!

JJ
