Well hopefully this weekend I'm going to fit the trigger wheel to the crank pulley, then hopefully connect up the ms to the wheel and power and see if I can spot timing differences across the rev range on the current lucas ecu

Should be fun. Where has anyone mounted any edis units / coil pack, as looking for somewhere safe for these as well

Haven't started mine yet but I am planning on making something like this :

I was going to mount the EDIS unit with the coil packs, but have now decided to install it on a plate attached to the bulkhead as there it's a slightly kinder environment.

Rev - with that tigger wheel, doesn't the ignition timing bounce around a lot???

If that trigger wheel's good enough for Ford then it's definitely good enough for an old RV8.

Well its on there now with the sensor mounted with off the shelf parts from trigger-wheels.com

Just need to wire it up and see if any readings coming back, but forgot to get any sheilded wire frown

That's just asking for trouble .. I think I ordered about 2 or 3 metres...

When you do finally wire it up to the junior timer connector block - don't seal the block up - just connect the pins to the sensor - until you find which way round the wires give the best reading / spark.

Once into that connector block - they are a devil to get out .. ask me now I know frown

Ford Fiesta with the OHV engine (Valencia ?) fitted with EDIS has a good length of screened cable and its terminated in the correct type of plug... Looks like a better option than Maplin microphone cable.
