Is it just me??

How do you guys do it? I must have only driven the bloody car 15 times or so!
The nurburgring trip was fantastic but since then it's been a complete nightmare.
After it arrived on the back of an AA truck I repaired the ignition the week after, the day I repaired it the o/s head lamp stopped working.
So the week after I repaired that, and that day it started suffering from an over heating problem.
So I changed the pressure caps and thermostat for new, and a few minutes after firing it up the radiator blew.
Today I fitted a new radiator, so I went to start it and check it was holding water. And the f
king fuel pump has given up!!
So what's the betting that after I repair that something else is going to blow up before the b
d thing gets off the drive!?
GARRR!

I know how you feel had a few teething problems with the first wedge.
Me and the wife would play little games like guess the courtousy car whilst we waited to be picked up.
Also took to packing travel connect 4 or pocket battleships to pass the time in the back of the recovery wagon.
But mostly we retained our sense of humour and got the old girl fixed and looked forward to our next adventure as the wife put it.
Its not all bad, hope you get things sorted, keep smiling

Drive it, see what falls off - fix it. Drive it see what breaks - fix it.
That's how my life with a Wedge is so far. I'm assuming it may stop in a couple of years time when everything what wears out, moves or rusts is sorted!
Old cars are great though, I've been running the Wedge this week as my every day car came home on a flatbed on Monday. The Tasmin still has holes in the exhaust and no cooling fan but it still goes!

A lot of the time someone sells a car like a wedge cos theyve lost interest, or they know theres some jobs piling up, so normally a few things like that will happen when youve not had it long.
Every time you have to fix something, you are one step closer to a perfectly reliable car.

Thanks Chris,
Your post has made me feel a lot better about changing my rear wheel bearing twice and not fixing the problem and then changing the upright and also not fixing the problem, I've now got bored with that and gone back to trying to get all the lights to work....
Ah well at least the spanners won't go rusty (unless you keep em in the boot)

I had a play around this morning and found it to be a broken wire for the fuel pump not the pump itself, a bit of bodging and I've been on the road for the last hour
There's one small leak from the top hose, but the temp stayed around 80 the whole time and only went near 90 when in traffic. Tomorrow I get to drive it to the westcountry
But apart from that nothing (new) went wrong!!
You folks are right though, it's definately worth it in the end

only been left stranded 3 times myself in 12 years of Wedge Ownership.
one thing .. if you constantly blow fuel pump fuses and the car stops .. check the wiring around the fuel injectors. had one that was chaffing on the head once ... only gave grief occasionally but was sufficient to stop the car in its tracks.
now, a length of electrical tape and some innertube as a shief has sorted it.
Keep the faith
