No no I'm not Rick Waller looking for advice on which form of vaseling will help me slide through the door! wink

Let me explain.

I went through most exotic brands of cars a few years ago, my favourite being a lovely Lotus and Porsche (put the big sticks away) however I am yet to own a TVR. About this time I had enough of the rat race and tried to go it alone and set up my own business, I also went through a messy break up which took lots of money up and the nice cars went the same way.

Move on to the present and I have got a job I love, prospects are looking good indeed life is great bar one hulking grey monstrosity........The Audi 80 Diesel that is sat on my drive. No joke this thing is so slow I regularly get overtaken by glaciers.

So I have a little bit of money together and if I'm honest I'm looking for a ropey TVR preferably a wedge. Of course i would love a mint example but A) Money and B) The fact I can restore cars makes one that needs a little work (or a lot of work) look attractive.

My ideal car is a drop head with the 2.8 engine. However I am very much a beggar not a chooser.

So does anyone know of any cars with MOT, running but maybe a bit rough that I can get in to for sub 1.5k ideally circa 1k?

It does look a nice car, I actually emailed about a week ago and had no reply but emailed again.

I do object to paying premium rate to find out about a car.

If price is the issue don't forget the S - the S1 with the 2.8 engine can be picked up much cheaper than the later models (that have the 2.9) and are just as characterful IMHO.

Its well worth a post on a forum or two asking if anyone has a project for sale - you'd be surprised what can turn up.

Any forums to suggest?

And an early car is ideal, it will no doubt end up seriously changed from original anyway no matter what engine it starts with......

Hmmm I'd snap that up if it actually had a body tub, it's actually got 90% of the bits I want!

Emailed about the tub, combined with the other project it could make an interesting car.
