Hi

Looks like the white wedge that was at driven image went pretty quickly, which is a shame, looks like it could have been perfect!(edit this bit... looks like Ive dodged a potential money pit)

Im still looking for a garage filler, since the T 2 has gone its just not the same in there... yes, ive got the bike to play with, and the pond to look at, but I really do need to buy a project for the winter...

Anyone with somthing that may be of intrest?

even if it is an MOT failing non running, more hole and rust than outrigger type beast..

Stu

How much are you looking at spending?

Wasn't really looking at selling my 350i yet.......... but I could be tempted for the right price wink (it's got to be worth my while if you know what I mean, as I am intending to 'downgrade' paperbag to a Chimaera once the Wedge is fully sorted)

It's Taxed and tested and runs as sweet as a nut. I've spent a small fortune on it, but still needs a suspension and brake overhaul to bring it up to scratch (picture of her in my profile)

(And I live in Kent too)

Email me for more info if you are interested.

For similar money and a fun alternative, how about an Esprit S3? Handling's better, build quality is about as bad (but Comadis doesn't go anywhere near the Lotus forums wink) - about the only downside is the TVR is more of an occasion to drive. And you can't drop the roof of course.

As I said it needs to be worth me cutting short my restoration of it and I don't really want to sell it yet........but.......

1985 C reg (early series 2) LC RV8, with PAS

Good bits:- New outriggers (by previous owner), respray in Impreza blue (not the greatest spray job but better than the original), new coil, new tie bar bushes, CV gaiters, HT leads and plugs, RR fuel pressure regulator, stainless steel exhaust from manifolds back, new diff carrier bushes (not yet fitted), hand brake pads, new battery, new trailing arm bushes (fitted), engine bay chassis painted, cam shaft was in good condition last time I checked, new starter motor, new dizzie, good bit of meat on all tyres, new master and slave clutch cylinder seals, replaced all rubber petrol hoses in engine bay, clutch itself is only a year old......... Runs and drives well proven reliability;- made it to Le Mans and back and is taken on regular 'hoons', interior is pretty good (tiny bit of stitching undone on drivers seat - minor), nice colour (I think anyway wink ), it's got power steering and all of the electrics work (even the pop-up headlights) apart from the mirrors which I haven't wired up yet (from a Fiesta), it pops and bangs and sounds cloud9

Bad bits:- Hood 'a bit rough at the edges' (I never use it anyway wink ), leans a little to the right due to weak springs (hence the overhaul), brakes are....well...they will stop you eventually, GRP around pedal box has split and allows water to leak into foot well, PAS leak (haven't pin pointed yet) and the wrong rad has been bodged in although it works fine and never overheats, a few little splits in the GRP front valance, bonnet struts gone (a bit of wood propping is required) and there is a small water leak into the boot. Not original engine, although still pulls like a train!

What do you reckon it's worth?

I have a minimum figure in mind, but realise that it isn't worth a fortune.

seems you're willing to part up if i go OTT on an offer and thats no way to do business. if you really really really really really don't want to sell...."BUT"......then put a silly figure on it and hope for the best mate....waiting for a first time buyer to make a bid is a bit lob sided. i'm either gonna come look or tell you i'm not in the slightest! Not gonna play(guess my valuation) games. what's your "figure in mind " that will persuade you to part up with it, as your description and list of "bad bits" leads me to reckon about £1500. Tell me i'm wrong !!

Well you stick £1500 up your arse wink

It was not my intention to play games, I told you what has been done and what needs doing, in all honesty. You can make your own mind up about it's value and compare what else is on offer. It doesn't bother me either way whether I sell it or not at the moment, my initial response was to highlight the fact that for a fair offer I might let it go.

You are probably more aware of the current market for these than I am presently. In the past I've seen some st heaps go for more and some good examples go for less than £2000+ mark. It's only worth what someone is willing to pay at the end of the day. I paid £1500 'blind' for it 18 months ago, not knowing what else was wrong with it despite not having an engine! I took a gamble and paid what I thought it was worth based on the description I had (ebay) banghead .

Anyway the £2600 figure I had in mind is well off the mark anyway (ever the optimist!), so until I come to realise that my car is probably only worth the £1500 I paid for it then I'll be keeping it for the foreseeable future.

Well Im still looking!

Ive had a look around a pretty damn clean 390SE that wasnt for sale, and its given me even more enthusiasm and more of an urge to get a wedge that needs work!

It was so clean the powder coating on the rear of the chassis was shining!

So, If theres anyone who has got one thats failed the MOT, or has engine trouble...or no engine at all, I look forward to hearing from you.
