hi guys, diggin for some opinions on above.
several series 1 350's have appeared on flea and p.h. Have read up on wedge pages, but comparison to series 2 is limited. I know about body shapes and around 7bhp less, but apart from that and some bits of running gear ???
wondering if any of you guys (maybe current or previous owners) have opinions or experience .
Thanks in advance.

Most of series II have an A-frame setup (some early ones sometimes not), and series I a trailing arm. Basically they are wedges and are alike. A-frame is only really required if you want to make large power increase upgrades, otherwise trailing arm is ok as a setup as well with the 350i taking it to its limits. Series II has a few cosmetic changes due to evolution of the wedge model (especially based on 390SE model) and what the customer wanted or factory felt like to use.... Due to this we like to think that every TVR built is unique.

There are subtle differences depending on what year the S1 was made. From 83 they were pretty much developmental cars until 84 when they sorted out the exhaust going from cast to tubular manifolds keeping the trailing arm suspension setup. The styling was very angular until late 85 when the first of the S2's began to arrive with the A Frame setup, curved bonnets, Renault Fuego rear lights, pod mirrors etc.

I've had both but prefer the S2 for looks. Performance wise no 2 cars are they same so forget the odd 6bhp as being quoted for the S2 in today's terms as these cars are now 20 plus years old....

Hi there, there's also the "series 1.5" which is sort of the cusp around 85/86. They have the series 2 body styling with the series 1 running gear, which basically means trailing arm instead of A frame.

The trailing arm is perfectly adequate for the 195 bhp that the 350i puts out, and coincidentally I have one f.s. if you're interested, in metallic grey.

I once saw a Mica Blue S1.5 with grey leather in a London showroom. At the time I thought it was best looking car out there.

Also most of the Racers have trailing arm, and some of them have gone over 350BHP (Turbo)

But didn't most of the racers modify the TA with a rose joint?
I have one of the first upgrades the racers tried, which is just a support that goes around the metalstic bush. Not had any problems with mine and it's pushing out 270BHP at the flywheel.

Hi lads, just purchased a pair of tie rods with rose joints from Steve Heath Eng, was unsure at first but was told they were good. For a series 2, 350.
Any other comments would be good.
thank you jonny..
