Wing mirrors .Rear Spoliers .Chassis oils
Discussion
Hi all has any body thought of fitting vw corrado wing mirrors as used on Tuscans to thier wedges. After market Spoliers. From other cars any body got any thoughts.Read years ago TVR injected oil into new chassis tubes at the factory............Maybe it sounded good in the books write ups etc ......Cheers Mike
I drilled my outriggers at both ends some years ago and injected waxoil all the way down inside then plugged them with rubber bungs from a local rubber shop (sounds funny i know but seriously we have a place called Hills Rubber Co in Reading which sells everything in rubber and neoprene plus water and fuel hoses)
And they both still look and feel fine, the outriggers that is.

The trick with wedges is to pick accessories that don't look too 'rounded'. Alloy wheels especially can be a nightmare as most modern styles are cute and fluffy to go with wobbly jelly shaped cars for mum and dad. Someone should make alloys with spokes made from kukris, centres from Exocet missiles and rims from barbed wire
The early wedges suffered from whatever aftermarket mirrors Paddy Hopkirk was doing at the time so something in that style won't offend purists, but if you read some of the remarks over Henry Harris' car when it appeared (M3 mirrors are they Henry?) you'd have thought that virgins had been sacrificed or something
Ultimately it's your car, do what you like, but I'd bet opinion would be divided over your Corrado mirrors
As for spoilers: whatever you do, don't put a SEAC boot spoiler on it or the Wing Police will be round your place sharpish...

Hills made me a radiator otter switch mounting gasket when I couldn't get one about 5 years ago. You can now find them on the www somewhere.
