Platform coilovers needed but wedge wishbones won't accept them , so had new front springs instead which are a touch high !

The way to go is coilovers if you want to adjust your height settings. I changed my upper and lower wishbone mounts to accomodate them. The next job is to do the rears...

Andy where did you get the front wishbone mounts as I've discussed this with Tim Lamont and Steve Heath and they say its a bespoke job to have wishbones made up .

For the top made up a carboard template and got 2 x pairs of brackets fabricated then welded into place by a professional mobile welder.

For the bottom I did the same which were then bolted through the lower wishbone. I'll take some pics and post them up here so you can see. However, the advantages over any supplied bracket arrangemnt for the factory setup are that coliovers are secured into place directly with easy access to adjust ride height and damper control. For peace of mind I want to get the lower brackets welded into place even though I've had no problems...

My problems at the outset however, were confounded because the springs I had delivred with my coilovers were far too soft meaning that I had no wheel clearance in the wheel arch. Stiffer springs and a bespoke mountings have since done the job!

Maybe a silly question but are you measuring the chassis. That is are there more packing pieces in between the chassis and body?

True, the packers between body and chassis can vary according to who put em in,is it same both sides and is it parked on level surface. When i got mine back in 2000 she was too low and i found the previous owner had messed about with the wrong springs.

You may be able to adjust te height by fabricating or machining new spring collars (top). First see how much space you have or if they would foul the chassis side spring pick-up point.

Thanks for the replies chaps. I'll probably go for some new suspenders soonish. The coilovers sound good to me. Adjustable for stiffness & height sounds good too. Probably do some ringing around next week. thumbup
