I bought my car with 2 keys (door and ignition both different) nothing new.
As I was greasing the bits on the passenger side window to make it run quicker than a snail I noticed that the car was fitted with central locking. Great news you would think ..........but no fobs were given to me.
Is my only option to go to alarm specialist, which I have done but they want £300 to re-alarm my car which includes central locking.
Has anybody had something simlar, is there a cheaper option other than forgetting about central locking.
Thanks
Stephen

Easy mine still has door motors fitted as well, I think the alarm got binned years ago, as I have the motors I'm going to get one of these
clicky

Unit can also be wired as a remote boot popper. The wiring looks quite simple as the output from the module is two relay contacts which can be wired either to an alarm to direct to the door motors. The only fly in the ointment is that I cannot find the other end (non door) of the wiring !

I bought a similar thing from maplins a couple of years ago - about the same price. www.the12volt.com has some good diagrams of various ways to wire door locks.

No bloody Idea - never found it !

I suspect the wiring to the door motors has been cut on mine by whoever took the alarm out. Rather than spend hours standing on my head in the footwell I'm going to run another pair of cables to each door, and put the remote locking box near the fusebox

I would think that even the cheapest car alarms have central locking built-in these days, could kill two birds that way... I mean you could fit one yourself, not that difficult.

No Alarm fitted, at some point it had a clifford but all that's left is the mounting holes, It's got plug in key type Cat2 immobiliser fitted.

I've done the cheap car alarm bit and got fed up of running to the window every time a pigeon farts as it flies overhead. IMHO You really need Microwave detectors for a convertible which really puts you out of the cheap alarm category and coupled with the fact the most people ignore alarms anyway makes me believe that they really are a waste of time !

Central locking + Immobiliser for me !

Got all my bits from Maplin. Central locking kit (4dr) was about £20, realys and bits to connect to alarm was about another £5. Took about 30 minutes to fit.

I think you will find that yes they had central locking, but never had a 'remote' central locking as standard

All I've done on mine was buy a remote locking kit @£20 from ebay, find the original control unit behind the dash and swap wires over the new unit and now I have remote locking - independant of any imobilser fitted

It even came with 4 motors so now have spare door motors and could have done the boot if I could have been bothered

I'd have used one of the extra servos for opening the ashtray, and the other for CLOSING the glovebox. hehe
