which way up should the starter motor be?

Im sure on my S1 350i the solenoid is ABOVE the starter motor so why on my S2 does it appear to be the other way round? which is correct?

Usually above - but whatever fits seems to be the TVR way.

It depends which way round the shroud is inside the bellhousing, and you can't tell that till you take it off.

ah. soooo the starter is probably right, it's just the engine is upside down..
