I thought I would share with you all an addition to my interior trim - I have replaced the black ashtrays in the door with a plywood cover complete with a layer of Burr Walnut that matches the dash and the rest of the trim. I have uploaded a picture below - I think it is an improvement over the black plastic
Cheers
Ian

The Tas originally had ashtrays in the doors (along with the chrome door releases you see in the pic)... biggrin

Door trims were vinyl-clad GRP upper and velour-clad hardboard lower that fell to bits (like all other car door trims did).

The original material on the bottom of the trim has held up well considering it is 28 years old - I am going to replace it with a blue Alcantera material - just waiting for it to arrive along with some new seats in the same material.

yours look the same as mine, both vinyl top and fabric bottom. My door cards are quite warped and i'm gonna replace them with perhaps a different material than "card".
I may have to replace the fabric while i'm at it.
Do you have photographic rep of the blue Alcantera material you are using (Or a wesite address for your supplier), and are you replacing the "cards" as well?
Cheers Gavinsmile
P.S. The old door ashtray's in mine house small speakers

Gavin,
I got my material from EBay - It was delivered this morning and looks a good match - the company that supplied it is called Tuningleader they are based in Belgium. If you email me your address I am more than happy to send you an off cut of my materiual so that you can see if it matches yours.
I will not replace my door cards as they are still in quite good condition.
Cheers
Ian

Bloody brilliant Ian, thank you so much. I am e-mailing you now.
Cant wait to match it up.
What car/colour and roof colour do you have?
Mine is a white (this years silver) with blue hood blue trim series one 350.
Needs new tyres, re-trim roof lining (same fabric as doors), and the door cards re-doing.
Carpets are good, mechanics need cobwebs blown off, and hopefully she's good to go.
Looking forward to spring.biggrin
