Which Series of 350i sounds the best?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I am still yearning for a wedge at the moment and on the lookout for an absolute mint example for me to pamper and look after. After looking at the various 350i's produced, there was the series 1 with a single exhaust to the left, the series 2 with a pair of exhausts, one each side of the car and the series 3 with a pair of exhausts together on the right hand side of the car. I know you will all claim that your 350i's sound the best, but subjectively which of the three series gives the best aural excitement?
Chimster.

there was also a Series 1 with twin pipes too...as mine is. Well I have had TVRs with various engines 3.5, 3.9, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0...but in my humble opinion there is something right about the original 3.5 burble (also present on early Range Rovers if you ctach one going by) and I don't think the number or position of zorst pipes makes much difference. I also agree that the overrun popping you get with the flapper is the dogs. So my vote goes to an early 350.
