Ayup...might be of interest, unless chassis is nacked.
No ID. Hmmm
I'm also watching that Hillclimb special, which might be worth spending the extra on. Had a lot of useful stuff done to it.
I see the other 390 near me has gone too. Looking closely at the chassis pics of that one, I get the impression the sill tubes and plates had been replaced.

Yes, chassis on the hill climber does look very good.
I was chuckling at the Pilgrim Sumo AC Cobra type kit car on the ebay TVR page.
£15,000 + ...but it's got a 4 litre engine that TVR say puts out between 260 and 280 bhp (but he hasn't had it tested).
Dream on.
A Big Wedge IS a bargain by comparison.

Ah no, I meant the C plate 390SE's chassis.
That hillclimber... supposed to have an XR4i engine. Why's it got the old style tin rocker covers then? The XRi engine had cast alloy covers, more squared-off and modern-looking, with Ford logos cast-in. I know, 'cos my XRi engine had them
. I milled the logos off and had the covers powdercoated.Edit: like this...

Aah, sorry...you mean the 390 near you that sold, or is there another one that I haven't noticed ?
So the XR4i motor may NOT be one.
Well, I'd probably have junked/sold that anyway. Too blinkin slow.
In the absence of a V8, a turboed Cossie would suit my purposes better, though I suspect a decent one will be dear.

That one's my old wedge (the white one - I magnified the the old MOTs, and recognised the folder all the bills were in!)
I spent thousands on it, including a blueprinted racing engine left over after a season's racing from Moore Racing, racing brakes (though I had the pads changed for normal ones because of the squealing at low speeds), and god knows what else. Nearly bankrupted me.
I eventually sold it because the chassis was shot to some guy who was determined to renovate it. I believe he did most of the work, and was on the verge of getting it back on the road when an overfuelling problem caused a minor engine fire - that's the last time I saw it on E-Bay.
I'd love to try and save it myself, but my fiance (who is vastly more sensible than me) has already told me not to even think about it if I expect the marriage to go ahead!
Good luck to whoever buys her - the engine is worth the price alone (assuming it's still running!)
