Does anyone know what size the pipe is on a 350i between the afm and the plenum. Am I right in thinking they have a different id at each end?

Cheers

Shaun

You are correct they are two sizes 70mm and 72mm but a pleunum hose from ACT fits even though its 70mm at each end and in the middle, you just stretch it a bit (Did this at the weekend on my project 350i)

Gents,
Is it definitley 70mm, I'm in the process of rebuiling my engine and last night just happened to measure the plenum inlet OD where the pipe goes over and it was 75 mm.
Bought some 75mm ducting from Advanced fluid solutions today but didn't check it fitted.
Mines a 350 series one.

BBT

Cheers guys
I have taken mine off tonight 70-72 really big split means new one required. How much would you expect to pay for replacement, standard or silicon. I have bought silicon and couldn't believe the price. Cheers Shaun

Hi Andy
I have found a guy 3 miles from me who actually makes the pipes to order he is making me a 70-73 silicon hose in blue for £20. I can collect tomorrow. 4 ply was £15 but I opted for 5 ply. He makes all pipes and even discounts for group purchases. Hopefully a top find. Cheers Shaun

That who I used. Met him last night and is making mine to size inc 70mm one end to 73mm the other. Paying a little extra to beef up the wall thickness. Cant wait to try it on the car.

Hi,
Just wanted to confirm the OD of the plenum where the hose fits over. Are yours 70 mm OD.
Reason I ask is as I've worked on my engine I've found a few signs that not all is standard, heads were skimmed, timing chain cover been off and marks on the crankshaft, injectors tested at 220ml/min, trumpets marked up as if been removed. Was trying to identify if AFM was standard.
Regards,
BBT.

Pretty sure my plenum is same diameter as the jag afm attached as just using a normal 80mm - 80 silicon hose smile
