It has occured to me that the Tasmin/Wedge series was first introduced in 1979 - is that correct? That would make this year the 25th Anniversary of the model and its derivatives. So we could organise all sorts of celebrations at the BBWF in July and throughout the year in various places.

It would be important to have some early Wedges at the BBWF.

Get sponsorship of events

Get magazines to run features on various Wedge models/derivatives - and get the BBWF and other celebrations covered.

Just a thought!

Although the Tasmin was first seen at the 1979 motor show, the first production cars appeared in 1980 and thus 2005 is the official 25th anniversary. The TVR Car Club are already planning events etc and press coverage to mark this important anniversary.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the 390SE though...

Ralph -

I would have thought that the year when it was announced would be IT! I have no doubt that with the motor show in those days in Sep/Oct then customer cars would first be delivered a few months later - in 1980. No doubt some orders were taken at the show.

So it is 25 years from when it was first introduced!

Yeah?

So what do Wedgers think? Tasmin first announced at 1979 Motor Show, some orders taken most like. First customer cars delivered 1980.

25th Anniversary or not? Or are you going to be swayed/bullied/pursuaded (delete as appropriate) by the TVRCC who it might seem can't count.

Bit like "......when did the new millenium start?" really.

Silver Jubilee!!! It is It is It is!

Well - we can have ours and TVRCC can have theirs.....if they must. I KNOW which one I'm going to!

Yaaaaaaargh!

Keep it simple, if there was a Tasmin (wedge) at the 79 show, its 25 years old. Happy Birthday!!

Well as my one was built in 1980, I would consider it to be 25 years old NEXT YEAR. But it doesn't matter to me as it gives me an excuse to celebrate either this year or next year....

Oh Yeah Pistolar - when was that then? By all accounts you had already left when you came to see my car at the Mid Essex meet, and I arrived later!

What rattles were they - I'll see if I can get them fixed!
