Only two more sleeps until I take the trip up to SSCC and pick up my much wanted long awaited wedge. As per previous posts, I would be fascinated if any of you guys have ever seen it / owned it / know anything at all about it. I will of course post a picture or two as soon as I can, meanwhile, over to you ...

John,

Good luck with collection of your Wedge on Saturday, only 1 sleep to go!!. Whilst I was looking for a decent wedge over the past few months, the white one at SSSC was always high on my list of possibles to be honest, I thought it looked a good honest and original motor. It was only when a a nice red 350SE (No.9 of 25 made) came up in North London recently that I made a quick dash for that one. I enjoyed my drive back from London and the car is now having a service and full tart up in my local TVR garage in readiness for the summer.

Happy Wedging!!

Regards,

Keith

Keith - It's all gone slightly pete tong in that the car needs a new steering rack bush as sscc have found a bit more play than they would like. The car will be ready for me this weekend but the boss and I are away so I have to wait until next weekend!!!!
Full credit to Jon at SSCC tho, he seems the ultimate perfectionist and would not let it go until everything he could find wrong was sorted!
I see you're Ipswich - I'm in Colchester so hopefully we can get together sometime for a run out?
I'll be in touch again when I've brought it home.
John.

John, never mind, not much longer until you can can pick up the Wedge and blast down to Essex. As we are fairly close by, do E-mail me when you have the wedge and just as soon as the weather improves we can meet up or go for a blast down to the coast maybe. It will be great if we can maybe summon up one or two other local Wedges and have a mini-wedge fest, Keith

I've got it!!!!! Picked it up today!!!! It pops and bangs and roars and I love it!!!!!! In the journey from Yorkshire to Colchester the engine temperature gauge packed up and the offside headlight won't come up so instead of flashing people I was winking at them - but what the hell!! Oh and she who thought it was ugly now loves it as well so that's an added bonus!
Now if I've got this right, Keith - you've got a red one, I have a white one and Kelvin a blue one? Those three together on a run out would surely look out of this world! guys let's email and sort this out!
By the way - how do I fix an offside headlight that won't pop up?
And where do I look for the engine temperature sender?
I'll post some pics tomorrow

Great to know that you're so pleased with the car, and I hope you have many happy miles together, but I'd be having a few serious words with the supplier.

Such basic faults should have been sorted well before you picked it up.
It's been there long enough !

Sadly, car electrics are a source of wonder and confusion to me, so can't suggest a fix. frown

Temperature sensor will be attached to the engine somewhere, with a little wire going to it. smile

Graham - yes and no really, as everything was working properly when I left, I had a few encounters with some potholes on the way home and I wonder if something's been loosened? I'll have a poke around tomorrow looking for this wire ...

We got our Wedge 390SE from SSCC last summer, drove down from Scotlandshire and made a weekend of it...
It was the worst weekend for rain, but it just added to the fun coming home.... Popping, Banging and making all the RRRrrrrrright noises... Fab... Windscreen fogging up, windows sticking open when bucketing down...
Wouldn't have swapped the experience for anything else...

John and his wife were great and Steve at the Garage seems to be a wealth of knowledge....

Ours hasn't been out since the first week in Dec 09, it will be coming out this weekend coming.... And i can't wait.....

yeh headlight woes... could just be a wire popped off the lifter unit (TR7). Or a fuse as the lifters are individually fused.

Temp gauge, again could be a wire dropped off, or could be a dicky engine sender. Cheap.

You'll be needing a copy of Steve Heath's Wedge bible. "SHPub" on here, his car was last seen being refuelled with aqueous TNT, and if its been done to a Wedge, he knows about it.

Glad you like the wedge, there aint much like it. Bonkers.
