Having only recently bought my Wedge I'm trying to find out some more of it's history as a lot of it was word of mouth, not on paper. Just wondering if any of you seasoned Wedge owners/Pistonheaders have come across my one before. It's a dark blue 400SE which inherited reg no. H4 OSE in 1995, NIJ 721 in 1994, but was reg H330 FLA originally. I have some history till 1996 then a big gap till 2005. Original owner had the car for four years in Staines, Middx then it went to Sunderland. I believe some of the blank history it was owned by a garage owners son and as such all the receipts probably went tthough the business rather than into the history file.

Sorry if this seems a bit anorak'ish. Just interested in building a picture of what iot's had done in the past if possible.

Thanks in advance......

Scribble a note to the DVLA, tell 'em you'd like everything they have on file 'for historic purposes' and enclose a fiver. They'll photocopy every piece of paper that they have relating to your car and post it back.

If you're already in the TVRCC (or inclined to join), and depending on whether previous owners were also members, they may have some information on the car. I know when my membership renewal comes along, it is accompanied by info on my 2 previous cars.

You need form V888, 'Request by an individual for information about a vehicle', it is downloadable from the DVLA website and the £5 Fee.

I had the car for short period of time in 07/08, bought it from a work colleague, it was he's father in laws who had passed away. Paid £3k for it. Came to me with SE wheels - but the guy had the original OZ wheels in he's garage so bought them off him only to find out two rims were buckled, so these went to Image for new rims to be made and replaced. I put new tyres on it, had Chapman and Cliff do the veneers and some other odds and sods. Then sold it on here to a guy in Kent who painted the polished OZ'S matt black, almost fell off me seat when I saw it. Some pics for you. Hopefully in the history is a Sprint Magazine where it has a feature as part of the owners letter. PM if you want any other info thumbup

Seeing these photos is making me think I've seen this car before, maybe a couple of summers ago.
Parked across the road from my house on Fidlas Road in Cardiff.
Or am I dreaming Wedges again?

You must have seen our man from Cardiff. 'beacon'

Yes, your right I remember now.
I dragged the Mrs out of the house to have a look and told her I want one like that one day.
You can tell Beacon his car is awsome.

It is a great site and forum despite some run ins and difference of opinions, but only from here found out had the wrong wheels on it,

where to go to fix the bent OZ'S,

where to go to replace the veneers,

only regret.................never got to drive it, for all the work including MOT sent it on a truck ..... for various different reasons, but accept its an unforgivable sin and has left a gap in my life that I need to fill wink
