Last Monday the nice guys at Greenstar TVR picked up the 450 on their transporter and took her back to Blackpool for a 12K service with Free MOT. I haven't used her much at all over winter and despite being set up on a rolling road last summer she was running like a sack of spanners and sounding more like a Subaru Impreza and infact refusing to start at all when she was picked up.

Took today off work to go to Blackpool and pick her up and had a great run home in sunny, yet refreshing weather. Having the roof off and that V8 rumble back in my life made for a fab day.

The guys at Greenstar have done a great job and the 450 is running so much better than she has done for a while. I'd forgotten how quick this car can be when it's on song. They also rang me while she was in their possesion to give me updates on their progress and what needed doing to the car.

All in all I'm a very happy bunny, got my 450 giving me my adrenaline rush and stupid grim back and I've found some enthusiastic guys to look after her properly. Cheers boys....see you soon!! driving

Yes your right Mickey is a talented racing driver at 18 years old but we are resting him over the 2010 season in the TVR Tuscan Challenge. He will be testing our new prodject we have under cover so watch this space.

No problems at all John..........the only complaint I have since you serviced the car is the national shortage of VPower unleaded !!!

I meant to ask you when I picked up the car. Which oil and viscosity did you use? So I can use the same for top ups.

Nige - have you tried Castrol Valvemaster plus octane boost? I hate having to find Super (and it would either cost me 8p/l more or give me a 10-mile drive out of my way on the busy A14) so usually run the octane boost and normal unleaded. It works out at 3p/l and seems to do the trick for the supercharger, so would probably help for you too.

Cheers Adam. thumbup

Hadn't really thought along the lines of an Octane booster. Will give it a try as I paid £1.25 a litre for BP Ultimate yesterday. Thieving barstewards.

driving on a budget!!!
