First place to look is the TVR Wedge pages. Local motor factors stock the majority of the parts.

So what are people using for LSD oil and how often to change? I've had the car ten years and am thinking it might be about time!

LSD oil: go to a jag dealer and get 2 litres from them as used for an xj6 that has the same powerlock diff type.

I did that (XJ6/12/S) but it's not cheap.

I've still got some in the garage. I'll check what make / spec it is tonight whilst fitting my new alternator.

Castrol also do an LSD diff oil - which seems OK.

If you've got a powerlock (LSD) you should have a tab attached to one of the bolts on the diff casing marked PL I believe.

Gavin,
I've got my diff out of the car at the moment and mine has 2 tabs, 1 is the diff ratio, 3.54, and the other says, P.L., Powerlock.
Hope this helps.

Dave.

If there is no tab then jack the back of the car up and rotate one of the wheels. If the other wheel turns in the same direction then it's a PL diff. Cheers Steve

You could also add fuel filter to that list.

There were other LS Diffs fitted to Wedges, mine came with a Torsen diff which uses a different oil because it's not clutch based.

Motul & Silkolene both do oils suitable for LSD's - it will say so on the pack. They have different properties to ordinary gear oils.
