Is there a nack to removing / replacing this?

I could't seem to get the original off without it hitting something! In the end I took the angle grinder to it. Not really wanting to do this when my new system arrives what the process for replacing it? Fore armed is fore warned and all that!

Cheers

Thinks mine on my 390SE fiddled into place OK. Jacked it up, fitted in from rear. Might want to jack it up a fair way to give more wriggle room. I mean you could remove the nearside rear suspension, but it seems excessive...

My exhaust was a total total GIT to fit. Good exhaust, but very tough to fit.

Thanks Ed,

I did raise the rear but there still seemed like not enough clearence to clear the drive shaft. Must admit I didnt give it too much time before the cutting disk came out! In true TVR style ?I thought it might be a case of removing the rear shock!

You have bought a new exhaust for your 400, were from, what is it s/s or normal, was it good value ? As soon it looks like I may have to been doing the same.

Andy,

Make sure you remove the tail trim and have the car as high in the air as possible. The job is really meant to be done on a proper garage hydraulic lift.

It's being made at the moment. Ordered it through Tim at ACT but its a bespoke stainless system. When I brought my stainless manifolds I had a right problem getting them to fit. It looks like the whole of my system and manifolds were a slightly different design to the norm. Normally I wouldn't complain about having 2 more inches then everyone else but that how much longer my drivers side manifold was! I eventually altered the manifolds myself. Much better fit than off the shelf and I have not had to squeeze the pipe like the original.

Will let you now how this one fits in the next few weeks!

Rev,

Tail trim came off no problem but as you say it looks like I need some serious height. I am lucky enough to have an inspection pit but need to get the car turned around to sort this out. Might be a bit loud at the moment!
