Was underneath my newly fettled beast today, trying to work out why the reversing lights don't work any more and noticed that one of the wires has become detached from the switch.
There's no way I can get in there to solder it back on. Anybody know if it's possible to remove the switch with everything else in situ? Or am I destined to have no reversing lights till the next time the box comes out??

You need hands like a paedophile, but it can be done. One option is to come in (ooer) from above - needs half the console out though. Thinking about it, the bullet connectors may be above the console anyway, and you can't really unscrew the switch with the wires connected as it all gets tangled up...

My bullet connectors are down next to the gearbox. How feasible is it then to change the switch?
