400 in the PH classifieds ?.
Discussion
I had to drive about 500 miles roundtrip to see my 390, but well worth it as it was in much better condition than I'd anticipated (makes a change
)...and FSH from new with all receipts, which wasn't even mentioned in the ad'.
So about a thousand miles including picking it up.
Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.
Does look promising though, and not over-priced.

I had a look at this 400 and it was on my list of options, beautiful paintwork and solid underneath, sounded good but I did not test drive it as it seem to be overfuelling a bit but nothing major and just needed adjustment to the regulator, it has had a lot of money spent on the car. I spent a good hour + going over it and I would suggest well worth a look. The only reason I did not go further with it was that at the time I had my eye on the 450SE but this fell through due to no other reason than Nick, the seller, had a lot of his plate at the time. Then up popped the Red Pseudo 500SE (400 with 5 litre griff engine) and I went for that.

I was looking for a 400 a couple of years ago, spoke to Tank man about wedges a couple of times, but never really saw one I liked, tbh I'm only toying with the idea of buying one now so travelling hundreds of miles isn't really an option, though if I came across a nice one in this price range I'd seriously consider it.
Uplifted a good few weeks ago, a very hard decision but combo of it being CAT C if I the insurance company would allow me to buy it back and no painters willing to give a fixed price for the painting of an alternative type of paint/colour to lessen the impact on the insurance co. Basically after the all the snow. Friends in the traded said that the bodyshops were out the door so picked their jobs and the quick turn around jobs were the attractive ones. Insurance wrangles continue though and looking at going legal.
Blade 7, not sure where you are in the UK but maybe speak to some nice local wedgers, with minimal persuasion they would be more than willing to introduce you to the virtues of wedge ownership.
