A couple of pics from Cadwell today. Shows what the racing boys do with theirs. Keep clicking to get good resolution.

1st one is 'ctsdave's car, with cossie 2.9 24 valve.

2nd one is 'NTEL's car with 2.9 12 valve and triple twinchoke carbs (giving 245bhp). smile

3rd is my old girl, who continues to give reliable and lively service...fingers crossed. wink

Get yourselves along to one of the TVR Challenge meetings (think Snetterton is next). The drivers are a friendly bunch.

Couple more: (click on em twice).

Hi Leigh !

Couldn't find you. frown

Great day out, and I thought the mixed class the TVRs ended up in made it a little more entertaining, from a spectator's point of view.

Hope to catch up with you at Snetterton. smile

Got the cosworth 24v in my 280. It didn't last long before asking for a rebuild, and has been at austec for a few months. While it was in pieces we took the opportunity to specify swaymar components (crank, conrods and pistons as designed by Dave Martin in the 80s as a conversion for the cologne v6) as well as a few other mods (new ecu, gearbox, clutch). The engine is on the dyno and just about to be started up for the first time . . . and we're taking guesses as to how much power the readout will show.

Hopefully get it back on the road for the summer.

No still not got the bits back from the shop,

Hopefully I'll get them this weekend.
What I may do though is just fit a better camshaft in that one for now.
Then use that on the new motor, so I've not got to bed in a new cam and engine.
Then go for a fully wild solid camshaft once I'm happy with everything.
And then use that camshaft in the engine I'm going to build with all the left over bits.
So I should end up with 3 complete engines with 3 levels of tune from 190-300 BHP

Wow, thats a nice looking unit! Should get some good numbers out of that. Did you explore the possibility of installing throttle bodies?

Does look quite tasty doesn't it! Didn't look into throttle bodies specifically, but I'm pretty sure that all the mods will give me more than enough torque. There's still a bit of work to do on the installation but I've not been hurrying the work as I'll have to pay for it all when it's finished!

What sort of power can you get from a cossie 2.9 24v with a few mods? is it the BOB?

Mine's a BOA. The modifcations are quite extensive, involve a longer stroke and slightly bigger bores. There should be significantly more torque all the way through, but the actual figures will have to wait for the new ecu to be fitted. Should be tested in a couple of week's time.
