I was in Dubai last week and contemplating a return to the UK, but since the Icelandic volcano went pop no flights to be had.

Panic over, got back early hours. Phew, silly money lighter what with hotels & the like doubling their prices ...

So, will still have to let her go to pay the stupid credit card bill that will land on the carpet sometime soon.

Oh eck. Not good news. Re hotels, I hate them when they do that, any chance that they have a captive audience and they bump the rates up. One thieving git industry representative went on to say that it may be the only chance they have to make a profit (on TV a few years ago and about city center hotels when sporting events or concerts were on).

What a shock about the hotels too...!!
Shouldnt the travel operator or airline recompense you for lost monies?? :-l

Same happened with the hotels in Bangkok, they all doubled their prices, bds!

I only got home today because my wife is 5 months pregnant, otherwise they were quoting 7th May for my return!!

Luckily for me i am going to be out here for upto another month so hopefully the dust should have settled shall we say.
