Hi all

I'm putting together a Classic & Sports Car twin-test, pitting an early Tasmin (preferably a 2+2) up against a car designed by many of the same engineers and stylists - the Lotus Eclat S2.2.

Would anyone be interested in having their Taz featured in the magazine? PM me with your details whilst I get searching for an Eclat.

Cheers

Sam

This offer is still open to TVR owners by the way.

If you're free to do the shoot next Thursday (20th) in Oxfordshire, it'd be brilliant!

Sam

Again, sorry about pulling out.

I really would love to feature the FHC but I would prefer to show her once she is in better condition.
I need to do the brakes too, especially if you are planning on doing some performance tests.
The interior is poor, but I have got another one to be fitted and the body work needs a good mop over, as well as a few minor bits.
Overall, the condition of the car may have been ok for the shoot, but in my mind it would not have been right.

You are still more than welcome to take some pics when I have spent a bit more time on her, and time permitting I should be able to get round to Oxford in a couple of months once Ive completed the work.

All the best

Stu

Thanks Stu - we may well do that if no TVR owners come forward by the end of the weekend.

I phoned one up the other day, seemed to be up for doing the test, claimed his car was perfect - then let slip that it didn't have an MOT, and hadn't for two years banghead.

I know that there is a bloody good 2+2 350i owned by schimg (Steve Guest) on here.

You might want to email him and see if he's up for it.

I'm afraid it's specifically the 2.8-litre we're after. The power of the V8 would obliterate the Eclat and wouldn't really be comparative. Also, we're reflecting on the point when several members of Lotus staff went to work for a rival firm to design a rival product, so the closer in terms of build dates they are, the better.
