I was shocked and saddened to see it Paul. I was crawling past the fire engine expecting to see some old shed and couldn't believe my eyes when it was a Wedge. Gutted for you.

Not me in the Porker, I was in the Rangie.

So sorry to hear this Paul. Something we all dread, but thank goodness you're safe and sound (?).

We've met once or twice and I've seen your car several times.

I know how much the car meant to you and how much work you've done on it.

Huge shame.

Chin up mate... then go and buy yourself another one.

Bugger - look on the bright side - at least you were out of the car.

Any bits worth saving? Even a burnt out shell will probably yield quite a few parts to keep some other wedges going, if you can face it it may be worth 'buying back' from the insurance.

Probably got a rolling chassis with engine and at least 3 wheels + doors and boot . Just need body interior and wiring plus all engine bays bits.

Will be looking to buy it back from insurance if cheap enough

Sorry to hear this Paul, I know you have had the car a long time and put lots of work into it.
Do you know what caused the problem.

So sorry to hear this Paul. I'm gutted for you. It's one thing we all dread as GRP goes very quickly once alight.

Hope everything gets sorted for you quickly on the insurance front and that you can get wedging again soon.

Just to add my sad feelings for you Paul - you must be gutted
and glad no one physically hurt

Saw how quickly a car can go up in flames a few years ago
and have carried a fire extinguisher in both my cars since
Not a bad investment at only £15 to £20 for a decent size one
that comes with carrier that can be attached somewhere to the car

Hope you sort the insurance satisfactorily

Cheers
Richard

I hope you can get up and about in something equally gorgeous soon.
Obviously glad you're ok and were able to hop out quick enough
