... To the little 1.5v battery in my Heath Robinson makeshift (bike) speedo'. smile

Some of you may remember that when I bought the Wedge the speedo didn't work, but I got a cable with it. Unfortunately the problem was with the gearbox drive, and not the cable itself. So rather than strip the box down I decided to adapt and fit a bike computer.

Well 4 years and 8500 miles later the battery has just started to fail.

Not bad for a £5 speedo... Just fitted a new 80p battery and all is well again.

Don't worry Graham. Knowing that I'm a fellow Yorkshireman, you'll understand when I say that I'm already looking ont t'internet to find a way to use spent batteries.

Best bet so far is to wait another 4 years and get a matching pair that can be turned into earings for our lass biggrin.

As a true Yorkshireman, your next one should be a re-chargeable. biggrin

I do hope you're going to dig a small hole in the back garden for the little fellow...and say a few words. smile
