Chap I work with a few years ago after I bought my first one.....

Him; TVR?.....Smart Car make them.
Me; Noooo, they're made in Blackpool, last of the proper British sports cars
Him; No No Smart Car make them deffinately..blah di blah

& so it went on for a few minutes untill I gave up.

They walk among us.

Oh and the woman in the office just can't say TVR. It comes out TR7 every time.

My old Wedge was in the car park at work (next to my mate's 64 Mustang - so they always drew a crowd!). Had a coach party of French customers in and as I went out to it for a lunchtime blast, one of them wandered over...

Frenchman: ees your car, yes?
Me: yes it is
Frenchman: a Triumph?
Me: No, it's a TVR
Frenchman: oh (followed by a blank look and then starts looking at the Mustang)

Got a few smiles and waves as I gave it the beans from the car park exit though!

Always surprised when someone says: 'nice TVR' sometimes followed by 'you don't see a lot of those'.
Normally they don't know what it is and aren't bothered about, but still look and listen (stop and listen), or at low speeds they think you behave like a hooligan (when you take it easy/cruising for once
Seems that you get a lot of attention, but normally I am to busy to control the beast and do not notice this

I have had the pub expert give it Triumph TVR. But the a kid stopped by when I was washing the Wedge and knew what it was, even that it was a 4 ltr out the factory in Blackpool.
