Putting on a different servo won't sort out "useless brakes". A servo doesn't improve the braking, it just requires less pedal effort from you to apply the brakes.

Have you tested the servo to see if it is working OK?

In case you don't know how this is how you test it. Pump the pedal with the engine off till it starts to go hard then start the engine, keeping your foot on the brake pedal, and the pedal should give and go down. Then run the engine for about 2 minutes. Turn the engine off pump the pedal and you should hear a hissing noise.

The servo on my 390SE is identical to the servo fitted to my TVR 3000S which is a TR6 servo.

I improved the brakes on my 3000S just by fitting uprated pads, as advised by Adrian Venn, so it may be worth while seeing if anyone has improved their brakes by fitting different pads.
