Well now back from the garage and after the compression tests it has revealed the following for each cylinder.

1-180, 2-240, 3-185, 4-175, 5-172, 6-220, 7-175, 8-175.

The garage said (as you can see) that the compression is higher on numbers 2 and 6 pistons and this could be down to sticking valves especaily as it has not turned a wheel properly for a few years !!

They have recommended before anymore work is done to do a oil and filter change with an engine flush and also to take off the rocker cover and check the valve clearance and adjust if needed.

Is this the norm to try and rectify this problem and does anyone know what the compression ratios should be for the 450's any help/advice is much appreciated as the car is booked back in on thursday....

Is that on a cold engine? Did they put any oil down the bores?

On most of the later RV8s it was 9.35:1 . Don't know if it was any different on the 450.
