I have decided to take out the roll bar and 2 auxiliary clocks that were fitted to the windscreen pillar

If anyone is interested in them, jmorgan i think mentioned about the hoop, then they are free to a good wedge home for postage price or pickup.

The clocks, water temp and oil pressure are both mechanical. The oil one has a T piece that fits between the original pressure switch and engine. The water one was tapped into the thermstat housing.

The roll hoop has a floor brackets bolted to the floor at seatbelt point beside each seat that the hoop slot into. The rear bars also have a bracket bolted to the rear uprights through the boot floor that they slot into.

MODS. If this is classed as advertising ( I am not sure that it is) then feel free to delete post.

In my original thread just after getting the car, as mentioned above, jmorgan said that if I took out the hoop then he may be interested. If he doesn't get to me on this then it is yours.

I have taken it out because I think it looks better without and hoping it is never needed. I potter around nowadays with my pipe and slippers on. It was originally put in for track day use. Horrible bit is, it was mounted where the seat belt fixes to the floor, but instead of fitting belt mount and bracket together, the belt was just bolted through the floor. Not very secure I think.

ETA Also gives me an excuse to re carpet now as there are 2 holes in the rear bulkhead where the tubes past through. Red car, cream leather---What colour carpet??? Oh the problems we give ourselves

Speaking of feeling old... I remember when the buzz was all about how to best install a roll bar and what is in the windshield frame for rollover strength (nothing). Now you'll are taking them out. smile

I see where you are coming from, but I don't subscribe to the super safe society of 'just in case'. I have ridden bikes for years with zero falling off protection.

Reminds me of a story when a mate was hiring a bike in Greece.

Question- Does the hire price include insurance?

Answer with a Greek accent--Why you want insurance, you going to fall off

Mr banana, PM me with address etc. Mrs women in local post office said about £8 insured postage, covers up to £500. These clocks are about £100 ish new so worth it. TT

Cheers, it is isn't it. Took some work on finding out what colour red it is. Body code didn't have a match at Halfords paint mixing shop or at online shops. Finally found it on here, my first search came back with nothing apart from Italian Red. But since found out it is Monza Red, Which I suppose 'is' Italian

TT,

The car looks great.

Who painted the car?

I intend getting my car painted a similar shade but would like to see Rosso Corsa up against yours.

Any others here with similar red cars and who know exactly whar red they have?

F-cars have over the years had around a dozen shades of red or so I'm led to believe.

The car is the original colour as far as I can tell, it hasn't been resprayed. The paint/body code of P420-KV52 was coming back with nothing, apart from Italian red. I searched on here and the whole interweb to match the colour and eventually found a match to the code.

It is a Rover Monza Red, I hope. Have ordered a test pot to see if it matches, If it is then perhaps someone could update the TVR paint code section

HI

Your crazy selling your rollbar. If you roll your tasmin its basically "game over". I know it rarely happens but its the first thing I bought for mine. Its not so much your own driving but it's the nutters on the road that pull out/don't see you.
