Last time I cut any decent amount of GRP, it was for a pair of carbs through my kit cars bonnet. Lots of measuring, a bit more measuring, then out with Mr A Grinder. I do not jest, 3mm cutting disc in and so long as you have a good aim I got a perfect straight line finish to the cut. No sanding required. Or you could wuss out and use a jigsaw, used that for bonnet vents on my Astra years ago
Ah yes, masking tape round the cut.
cheers
Dave
PS edited to say, tasteful ones please, not like my Astra

These are the genuine vents that are used in the making of the bonnets by TET, so at a lot less price than the whole bonnett. So hopefully if my cutting and filling skils shape up then no one will notice !!
Thanks for the advice, was going to cut the surplus of vents make a hole in the bonnett,, glass some sort of plate to bonnett where vents can sit on, , glass all round vent underneath then fill any gaps and smooth and finally spray - well find a sprayer
Cheers
