Picked the Wedge up from Dulford Auto today after having both Head Gaskets replaced, and the heads skimmed. Been driving all day with a Huge smile on my face.

But .... about 75 miles into my trip home, the speedo went to Zero.. st ... a broken drive I thought .. On closer inspection, no, the bottom of the speedo cable was loose and free ...

Can anyone tell me how this connects to the gearbox ?I tried to have a look underneath , but the car is red hot .. for now its disconnected, but will need to refit at some time...

Mine was a fork held by a single 5/16" UNC bolt clamping the flared end of the outer cable. The inner squared off end fitting into the gearbox speedo drive. If it's been hanging down there is a danger you may have lost the inner!
